Alison Stangler
Alison (she/her) enjoys working with youth, individuals, couples, and families on concerns with life transitions, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and other life events that get thrown our way. She acknowledges that life brings change and can create feelings of discomfort, confusion, and overwhelming emotion, so we will work together to address your mental health needs in a safe, culturally sensitive, and confidential manner.
Alison believes that clients grow through and toward relationships throughout the lifespan. Because of this, she believes strongly in the power of the therapeutic relationship and other growth-fostering relationships. As part of this work, Alison creates space for reflection and intentional growth, helping clients find ways to strengthen their connections with others. In her free time, Alison loves spending time with her family and friends, reading, and being outdoors.
Alison is working under the supervision of Mike Thalasinos, Paula Witt, and Emily Barrett as an intern while completing her master’s degree at University of Wisconsin – Whitewater’s Counselor Education graduate program.
As part of our internship program, there will be a licensed therapist who works alongside the therapist in training. The graduate intern has already had experience providing psychotherapy and the purpose of the internship is to truly allow them to grow within themselves as a therapist and gain additional competency in therapy skills. We have a licensed therapist that will be present for some or all of the sessions either in person or virtually.
